Featured Artist - Linda McClamrock

Another artist you will discover at my studio show is Linda McClamrock. Linda is a self-taught paper collage artist. She loves creating collages from paper others have thrown out; catalogs, calendars, and junk mail are all fair game. Her collages are full of joy.

Her tools of the trade are sharp scissors, glue stick, and old magazines. Some pieces also have acrylic paint in the background. The finished pieces are coated with gloss medium for better adhesion and color preservation.

She recently discovered a new technique for using imprints of vintage materials on wood, and thus this collage includes a postcard sent from Yakima, WA in 1915 without destroying the original. This original mixed media collage also includes found papers from old magazines and catalogs. There are dozens of pieces of paper in the flowers to give them a rich, textured look.

This intricate collage is made entirely of paper. She cuts each bit by hand, and glue it into place, using watercolor paper as the base. There are dozens of pieces of paper in this collage - including every single book on the shelves.

Each of her pieces are handmade originals. She does not do any prints or copies. You can see more of her work on her Facebook page and in her online Etsy shop
