Next Chances to see Beadware

If you missed the show/sale this past weekend - bummer for you! We had a great time, good food, beautiful music and lots of shopping! I spaced out taking pictures on Friday but will get some from Saturday posted on my Beadware facebook fan page this week. While the other artists wares are packed up and gone, my things will be unpacked for a few more days, so just give a call if you want to pop in for some shopping.

Beadware will be out and about in May - you can find me at Rodstol Lane Farm's Southworth Art & Garden Fair on May 8th. Should be a very fun time. And I will be back at the Fremont Sunday Market on May 2, 9, and 23rd.

I will be working on some new items specifically for these shows so stay tuned for sneek peaks!

More Artists at the Show!

The last three artists participating in my Spring Art Show & Sale this weekend are Lesley, Toni and Laurel. Lesley began doing watercolors just a few years ago. She has not yet parted with any of her originals, but she is sharing her work via printed notecards. In this day of emails and tweets a hand written card is a nice surprise! 

Toni and Laurel combine their talents to perform wonderful Renaissance music using a variety of wind and string instruments. They will be doing live performances during the sale on Friday from 5 to 7pm and Saturday noon to 2pm. 

Come to visit, to hear music, to see (and buy!) wonderful artwork. Hope you can join us in this celebration of spring!

Noelle has been taking amazing pictures for a number of years. Eagles from her deck, orcas from her boat, scenery from her many travels. She'll have a variety for you to choose from, matted and framed. Stop in at our Spring Art Show and Sale this Friday and Saturday and take a look!

Pearls at Fremont?

Had a fun day at the Fremont Sunday market yesterday. Never boring thanks to fantastic people and dog watching! Just as we were getting ready to close up shop for the day at 5pm a woman rushed in looking for a gift for her mother-in-law. Pearls fit the bill. My two biggest sales so far at Fremont have been pearls - I would have never predicted that. Two lessons learned - never close up early and you never know what will sell at a particular place so bring a variety! (These have since sold.)

Postcards in the Mail Today

I am printing out labels this morning to put on the mailing  inviting folks to my spring show and sale (April 23-24). Linda helped me turn my usual flier in a more affordable-to-mail postcard! I do a combination of snail-mail and email. The email version I will design today and send out early next week.

This show will feature photography, pottery, watercolors, jewelry and live music! There are so many great artists working in this area. I just met a woman last week who makes beautiful basketry. I wish my house was big enough to invite a few more artists to the show. I have been thinking about working to organize a local show in a place big enough to house many artists. I just may have to act on that!

Upcoming Events

Last fall I invested in a nice tent, tables and shutters for an outside booth. It is a fun way to show off my wares and I get to meet some really nice folks. I am starting to fill up my calendar with booth events. This Sunday the 21st and Sunday the 28th I will be at the Fremont Sunday Market sharing my booth with Kristen the potter.

April 23-24 will be my annual spring show and sale. Invited are Noelle with her photography, Lesley with her watercolor notecards and for the first time - Linda and her pottery. I also hope to have live music by Toni. Details will be finalized in the coming week.

May 8th I will have a booth at the Southworth Garden and Art Show at nearby Rodstol Farm.I am looking at a number of other events - so many to choose from! If you know of an event that you like to go to and think it might be a good place for me to have a booth send me some info on it.

March Green

Two weeks since my last post - life has been busy! The birthstones for March are aquamarine and bloodstone, two stones I do not have in my collection. So instead this month I am featuring green - the color of new spring growth.

Green jasper brings joy into life. It brings on rain and restores your sense of smell. Good for all the things in your garden and for you during allergy season! Pearls symbolize love, success and happiness. They eliminate emotional imbalance and help one to see themselves, improving your sense of self-worth.

First Sale to a Store!!!

Today I made my first wholesale transaction with a store. The place I buy my glasses, Olympic Peaks Optical  with outlets in Bremerton and Port Orchard, bought a dozen of my eyeglass leashes!! Wooo-hooo! Blue, green, pink, red and multi-colored. So if you are a customer there you will now see my items on their counter.

If you shop at an independent optical shop let me know their name and I can contact them about selling my items. I will be making a list of the ones in the area that I can find in the phonebook/online and giving them a call. How exciting!

 

 

Fremont Market on Valentines Day

Mike and I set up my booth at the Fremont Market on Valentines Day. We had a blast! I joined the market as a member so we got to set up when we got there - that gave us almost 2 hours - so relaxing. (Last time we only had about 45 minutes so we were pretty frazzled.)  We broke even for the day (booth fee, membership, ferry ride and lunch), so we called it a success.

I am going to be there again this Sunday. I will be sharing my booth with Kristen the potter. Come and visit us, and be sure to get a piece of the wood fired pizza - yummy!

Re-New

Sometimes a necklace hangs around for a bit and I decide that it needs a change - something about it is just not quite right. That is what happened with these two. For the green one, I decided that the pendant needed something else - so I added a lovely piece of Russian Jade. For the amethyst one the pendant I had was not the right scale - it needed something with more ooomph. I changed the pendant to this nice piece of lepidolite. All have been  SOLD

 

  

  

 

Market Sunday

This Sunday Feb 14th I am going to be at the Fremont Sunday Market - stop by if you are in the area. It is a fun and funky place, not to mention the center of the universe! My Etsy shop will be closed that day.
