Fun and Functional

I have had requests to make eye glass leashes and name badge lanyards and was surprised at how popular they have been! No reason you can not have some fun in a functional item.

This version of an eyeglass leash uses a little bit of everything from the bead box. Each one is unique. In addition I have eyeglass leashes in blues, oranges, lime greens and pinks for $20. There is also a version with ruby red beads and chips of garnet for $25. They average 29 inches in total length, which means once around
your neck they hang around 14.5 inches.

The name badge lanyards (not pictured) are available in multi-color and blues for $20. The total length of the beaded portion is 36 inches and then add 2 inches for the badge clasp. This means once around your neck it hangs about 20.5 inches. All have been SOLD.

A few more things to tantalize you

It has been snowing here since last night. If it ever stops (!!) I am going to go measure how much. The news said this area got 9.5 inches, and that was this morning. I finished wrapping presents so I decided to spend some time adding more pictures to my blog.

As you can see to the right, I pulled the slide show. It was limiting how many pictures you could see. I did not figure that out until today so I am sorry for those of you who were looking for more variety. In its place there is a direct link to my photobucket account and a slideshow that gives you a wide ranging look at some of my inventory. So get a cup of tea and sit back and browse!!!!

No Time

Well between decorating and shopping for the holidays, pet sitting, guests, computer and weather issues (including no power) I have not made much headway on my picture project! This weekend another big storm is forecast - we have snow on the ground now and another foot forecast (I am loving it!!), along with twenty degree temps and dangerous winds. So check back in a bit as I do plan on posting new and improved pictures.

Enjoy the season where ever you are!

More research

Today I have been investigating PayPal. I set up an account and then I figured out how to add a gift certificate button - you can check it out in the left column. I would be nice to customize it but at the moment I have no idea how to do that! I can also now send invoices via emal that you can pay with your credit card thanks to PayPal - you do not need a PayPal account to do this.

I would like to figure out if I can make the slide show random. It starts on the same pictures each time. I'd like it to mix things up so each time you visit it is on a different picture. More research!

Browse Beadware

Boy there are lots of gadgets you can paste onto your blog! I found a slideshow gadget and dumped a bunch of my inventory pictures into it - wa-la - you can now browse my wares!

Unfortunately it does not give you any details, but hey, one thing at a time! If you click on the picture some of them have a small tag with description and price you can see. Also some of these pieces have been sold. Just shoot me an email at beadware@wavecable.com if you see anything you like and I will respond with details.

I will still be posting pictures of new creations and better pictures of existing pieces with details as they become available.

Last night I found a visitor counter so I can see how many people visit the site. A dozen so far! You can even track what country people are from - I think I will wait on that one.

Enjoy! Ann

Pictures

I am working on improving my pictures. I did some research on the Internet and discovered that many people find photographing jewelry very challenging. Nice to know it is not just me! Tomorrow I am going to make a simple light box and see if that helps.

In the meantime I posted a few pictures I took for my records to tide you over. Right click and open in a new window or tab to see them in a larger size. Enjoy!

Jasper and Copper

The green jasper and copper necklace on the left was inspired by a red-headed friend of mine.
For variety I added some red jasper to the next ones (the one on the far right has been sold). These are a mix of copper seed beeds, copper findings and spacer beads, and green and red jasper.
Jasper and Copper Necklace, ~18" $35 All have been SOLD.

Hearts Desire

Hearts Desire, ~18", $40. These have been very popular. Various combinations of freshwater pearls and seed beads, each one is unique. The clasp is a heart and arrow. The two on the right have a second strand of seed beads, either silvery or pearlized. All have been SOLD.

Silver Filigree

While at a bead sale in Tacoma this summer I came across some nice silver filigree shapes that I new had to be made into chandelier earrings. I have several different styles and colors. These are made with olive Swarovski bicone crystals, $15 SOLD

Carnival of Colors

These beads are so fun! I have several different colors and some earrings that do not have the added crystal dangle at the bottom. $15 SOLD

Peruvian Opal

I really like this one - muted earthy colors of small jasper cubes with a Peruvian opal teardrop. Necklace is about 18" long, $30. Earrings $10. Can be purchased separately. All have been SOLD.

Thank You!

Thanks for all the great comments on my new blog. Keep them coming!

Today I will be working on taking individual close ups so stay tuned for more pictures on the blog.

A few tips on enlarging the pictures in the slide show so you can see more details. Once you are in the show - click on "main" at the top right. Then click on an individual picture. Next move your cursor over the picture and a menu appears across the top of the picture. Click on "full size" on the left. To return to the other pictures, click on "Holiday Sale" near the top right of the page. Good luck!!

Price ranges: Earrings $8-$15, Bracelets $12-$25, Necklaces $22 - $45. I'll have individual descriptions and prices with my more detailed pictures coming soon. Another question was payment - at this time I am not set up to take credit cards or paypal so checks via mail or cash/checks in person. More "to-do's for my list!!
