New Glass Gardens

My MN customers may remember these. For a new look I have added a second layer of fringe. These use pressed glass beads in the shape of leaves, flowers and butterflies. For sparkle I added Czech crystals. The clasp is a magnet!

It took me a few tries as it has been a while since I made these. Making the fringe is more like sewing than beading. I use more than 144 inches of thread at one time. It is a real challenge to keep it from getting tangled, especially when I work on the second row of fringe. This work requires a lot of patience!

Being a very 3 dimensional design the picture does not do them justice. Next I plan to make some in purple, then blue using moons and stars, then a fun bright colored variety. I am still working out the price on these. If you are in WA and make it to the sale next month you can try these very fun bracelets on and pick out your favorite.

All have been SOLD.

Coral and Pearls

These are made with freshwater pearls and some red coral that I bought in New Mexico. $10 each. There are also bracelets and necklaces. All have been SOLD.

Spring Sale Preparations

This week I have been working on the plans and a flier for my spring sale, Friday May 1st and Saturday May 2nd. Today I printed out the fliers that will get mailed as well as sent out a bunch via email. Doing them all by email would be less expensive, but I think getting one in the mail increases the chances folks will come. My partner in crime for this sale, Lesley, agrees.

Lesley will have her notecards for sale. They are prints of full size watercolors she has been working on during the last year. She is a masseuse by day and will have gift certificates for massage available. I can say first hand that she can work wonders with tight muscles!

Friday eve will have a girls nite out theme - with appetizers and refreshments. Can you say party?!! Saturday Lesley will be painting a watercolor using the view of the sound from the porch as her inspiration. Both days all my earrings will be on sale, 2 for 1. We hope it will be a fun weekend!

Now I have to get busy and bead. I will be posting pictures of new items, so check back each week to see what is new.

More Custom Work

A friend brought me some pretty blue crystal teardrops and asked me to whip up some earrings for her. Here are the results......

A New Look

I am trying out a new background. Some bling! There so many gadgets you can add to dress things up and have fun. That said, I hope that the new look does not detract from my pictures or is too busy. I'd love some feedback so click on the comment area below and let me know what you think!

Odd's n Ends

One day in my old studio I decided I needed to sweep up the wood floor. The result was this amazing pile of assorted beads. Now don't worry, I'd never make your bracelet out of beads swept up off the floor! I got a mixing bowl out of the kitchen and opened up all my bead boxes. A pinch of this and a dash of that and I had a beautiful mixture. I made a variety of necklaces - long and short, single, double and triple strand, as well as a variety of bracelets.

I still have some of the memory wire Odds 'n Ends bracelets in stock - they are fun and indestructible. One size fits all and no clasp to hassle with. All have been SOLD.

Thinking of Spring

The first of March and I am thinking spring. And that means some serious gardening! Digging in the dirt, whacking blackberries, trimming shrubs, removing dead leaves, moving plants, etc.

Several years ago I made a series of bracelets and earrings I called "glass gardens". They are made with a variety of pressed glass beads, size 6 seed beads as well as a very cool magnetic clasp. I recently stocked up on supplies, found my notes and am preparing to make more of these very popular items. All have been SOLD.
