Getting My Purple On!

I am getting ready for this weekends Lavender Farm Faire! Last year I sold out of amethyst items halfway through the first day. So I am stocking up to try and make sure that does not happen. You can see these beauties in person at Olympic Lavender Farm this weekend. Check their website for tickets!

Stocking Up

I have been working hard stocking up for this years show season. My to do list is huge so it can feel overwhelming. Where to start? I break it into manageable pieces by working by color. If you have ever been into my booth you may have noticed that it is organized by color. The shutters on one side are cool colors and the other side is warm. The necklaces on the table tops follow this pattern also. This last week I have been tackling cool colors. Bright multi-colors, greens, blues and finally purple.

I start by refilling each shutter, going over each pair of earrings and polishing or tweaking as needed. Then I can see what my needs are for backup. I also put a few bracelets on each shutter and so this is a chance to see what gaps I have there. Then it is time to make things. New this year will be the addition of more stone earrings and bracelets and less glass only items.

Here are a few of the things that you will find on my shutters this year:

This is an oldie but goodie. Some designs I phase out over time,
but this one continues to be a best seller.
And the same design but with a nod to
our local sports teams, Seahawks and Mariners.
Lapis lazuli earrings. Such a luscious color!
 Assorted green gemstone bracelets.

Just for fun green glass.
Green jasper bracelets and earrings.
 Just for fun glass earrings.

And lastly amethyst earrings and bracelets.

Shop Local, Shop Handmade

There are so many options to keep your hard earned money you spend on holiday gifts local. One of those options happens this weekend, Winterfest at Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor. Funds raised from the nominal admission go to support school programs. Check you local newspaper or Craigs list for listings of local bazaars that support good causes.

You will find me in space #45, in a corner of the main gym. See the following pictures to see all the new Ocean Jasper, Agate and Amethyst necklaces I will have.

Recent Work - Blue, Green, Purple

I have been busy restocking in preparation for Salmon Days in Issaquah this weekend. I was low on blues, greens and totally out of purple. Here are a few things to fill that gap. Sorry pictures are a bit dark - first time using my new light box. It is bigger than my old one so I think I need to get brighter light bulbs!

All of these have sold

Sunday's Work

I was almost out of eyeglass leashes, and I was going to discontinue these. But, people keep asking for them! So I started restocking today. Browns, greens, purples. And a few multi-color. I have quite a few more color combos I want to do. The fun part is making the bead mixes. I was lucky to receive two large gifts of glass seed beads last year so I have so many colors to choose from!

Pretty as a Picture

I have a new camera and I have not had time yet to play with the white balance settings so the colors are a bit off in these photos. I am hoping once I have the settings figured out my pictures will be much improved.

These are some of the pieces I have created in the last two weeks. A few have already sold. The purple one sold less than a day after it was made and after only an hour in my booth!

Magic jasper with a amethyst crystal dangle, sterling tubes and dark purple glass beads.
I will be making more of these. Update - these stones are now all gone.
Sodalite, a crystal dangle, pewter and glass seed beads.
This one also sold its first day out.
Picture jasper - such a beautiful stone. Mixed with agates and matte amber glass seed beads. SOLD.
Picture jasper with an agate dangle and rose gold glass beads. SOLD
One more picture jasper with a mix of coppery and brown glass seed beads.
Copper accents. SOLD

All About Ears

A friend recently gave me a box of assorted glass beads. I decided to turn them into earrings.
All are $10. Send me an email if you see a pair that speaks to you!
